New ISCOS Executive Director (Development)

6 April 2011

Dear Valued Partners

NEW ISCOS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (DEVELOPMENT)

Mr Abdul Karim has returned to the Singapore Prison Service (SPS) on 1 April 2011, after serving as ISCOS Executive Director (Development) for 2.5 years.

During his tenure, Karim further raised the profile of ISCOS as an aftercare agency assisting ex-offenders and their families. Under his leadership, the number of new initiatives, strategic partnership and volunteers has increased. We are now in a better position to cater to a growing membership.

I am pleased to inform you that Mdm Phang Seok Sieng will be appointed as the new E.D (Development) with effect from 25 April 2011, while Ms Freda Tham remains as E.D (Investment).

As E. D (Devt), Seok Sieng will continue to oversee the Member Services, Human Resource and Administration divisions of ISCOS. She is a veteran Prison officer and in her current designation as Director (Rehabilitation & Reintegration division), she has extensive experience working with aftercare agencies like SANA, SACA and ISCOS.

We take this opportunity to thank the Singapore Prison Service for seconding Karim to ISCOS, and to Karim for choosing to make a difference to our members and staff during his stint with the Co-operative Society.

We look forward to your continued support to Seok Sieng as we work alongside to help ex-offenders reintegrate into society.

ANDY LIM
CHAIRMAN, ISCOS
