Art is well-known to be a powerful medium for expressing emotions, which can also be used as a means of communication between people. Recognising the need to address the mental and emotional aspects among beneficiaries, especially the young ones, FGP introduced a new art therapy workshop under its tri-event workshop series themed ‘Changing Mindsets.
Held on 23 August 2015 at the ERC Institute, the workshop is designed to motivate the childrenby helping them getin touch with their inner feelings which are not usually explored through words, and using the creative process of making art to improve physical, mental and emotional well-being. Facilitated by three art therapists by The Red Pencil, over 70 children and youth had a good time creating their own art pieces during the session.
The Red Pencil is an Art Therapy Humanitarian Mission based in Singapore, with a mission to bring the power of art to children, adults and families, as a way of expression towards joy, balance and well-being. The sessions conducted by The Red Pencil place a special focus on art therapy to help those facing overwhelming life circumstances.
Thank you The Red Pencil for offering such unique experiences for the FGP beneficiaries!
