ISCOS Bursary Award and Book Grant 2018

ISCOS Tuition Sponsorship 2019

Starting from 29 October 2018, applications for the ISCOS Bursary Award / Book Grant 2018 and ISCOS Tuition Sponsorship 2019 is open. You are invited to apply for these bursaries for your children who are schooling.

CRITERIA

a) Singaporean students who are at least in Primary 1 and studying in government or government-aided schools, junior colleges/centralised institutes, independent schools or institutions, specialised schools or Institute of Technical Education or Polytechnic.

b) The combined household income of all family members living in the same household must not be more than $2,750 or exceed Per Capita Income (PCI) of $690.

c) To qualify for the Bursary Award, students MUST obtain at least 55% or equivalent* (Grade Point Average (GPA): 2.2 and above for ITE and Polytechnic) in their 2018 final overall examination results.

d) To qualify for the Book Grant, students MUST obtain at least 45% or equivalent* (Grade Point Average (GPA): 1.8 and above for ITE and Polytechnic) in their 2018 final overall examination results.

e) Primary 1 or 2 students who do not have examinations will be assessed on other factors as detailed in their report book.

f) Primary 6 students must apply using their actual 2018 PSLE results.

g) “O” Levels, “N” and “A” Levels students can apply based on their preliminary OR actual results.

h) ITE and Polytechnic students who may not have completed their final year examinations may apply with their latest or mid-year examination results.

i) For applicants who were recipients of the ISCOS Bursary Award or Book Grant 2017, applicants and their family members must have attended at least TWO enrichment programmes organised by ISCOS in 2018.

j) Successful applicants of the ISCOS Bursary Award or Book Grant 2018 MUST attend at least TWO enrichment programmes organized by ISCOS in 2019.

*Equivalent grade is computed by averaging the numerical grades of subjects (after translating the non-numerical grades into numerical format based on the midpoint of the indicated range).

E.g. If a child in Pri 5 Foundation Stream attained grades of 2, 3, 3 and 4 for all their four subjects, average of the grades after translating into numerical format is (77+59.5+59.5+39.5)/4 = 235.5/4 = 58.9. Eligibility is thus met.

ISCOS Tuition Sponsorship aims to provide quality tuition in small classes to help students improve their results in their school examinations. Students will be in the programme for a minimum period of 10 months in 2019 and may be paired with a mentor as part of the programme.

CRITERIA

a) Singaporean students who achieved less than 55% or equivalent in their 2018 final overall examination results.

b) Must be of the following education levels (in 2018):

Secondary 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 (Express or Normal Academic streams only)

c) The combined household income of all family members living in the same household must not be more than $2,750 or exceed Per Capita Income (PCI) of $690.

One representative (parent, guardian or caregiver of the child) must apply in person at the ISCOS office with ALL supporting documents by the application deadlines stated.

a) Successful applicants who applied before the closing dates will be required to attend the ISCOS Bursary Award 2018 Ceremony on 14 December 2018 from 8am to 1.30pm in order to receive their cash cheques immediately after the Ceremony.

b) Successful applicants who applied after the closing date or cannot attend the full duration of the Bursary Award Ceremony on 14 December 2018 will only be able to collect their cheques from 1 March 2019 onwards.

c) Terms and conditions for the Bursary, Book Grant and Sponsored Tuition can also be found on the application forms. Applications are subject to assessment on top of the eligibility criteria.

d) All decisions made by the ISCOS management will be final. Successful applicants will be notified by post.
