Recognising that family support is one of the crucial steps towards successful reintegration, we believe that parenting plays a huge part in creating happy families. Fathers have a vital role to play in nurturing their children and for this reason, we started the Fathers’ Support Group.
To make sure we start off on the right foot, we had a special Focus Group discussion with some of the fathers among our members in May. Facilitated by ISCOS Deputy Director, Mr Elvis Overee, the session focused on understanding the challenges commonly faced by fathers after their release from prison. The discussion also touched on the needed skills and knowledge for fathers to reintegrate into society and their families, and how ISCOS can provide assistance to bridge the gap. We are definitely excited to embark on this new initiative and look forward to many more meaningful discussions to encourage each other in becoming better fathers.
