Our beneficiaries had a fun-filled session at the second Tri-event on 21 July 2018! Held at the Allspice Institute, the day began with a family bonding activity of baking (delicious desserts) or cooking (sumptuous bento lunch). Everyone enjoyed this activity immensely – some family members worked on the recipes side-by-side while other parents patiently guided their children through tasks new to them.
In the afternoon, parents, youth and children attended their respective workshops. While the children learnt how to articulate and manage their emotions, the youth learnt about different personalities and behaviour types. Parents were taught how to set family goals and be an example for their children so that they could continue to support, encourage and communicate with them.
We would like to thank the training provider The Mapping Academy Pte Ltd for facilitating the different workshops, its training alliance Allspice Institute for the family bonding activity, and the five volunteers from SMU who helped us at the event. We also thank all participants who came for the event, and hope that with each session, their families will continue to grow stronger and closer together.
