Needy Students receive bursaries at StarHub-ISCOS Bursary Award

needy-students-receive-bursaries-at-starhub-iscos-bursary-awardA total of 165 needy students were eligible for the Bursary Awards this year, of whom 109 attended the StarHub-ISCOS Bursary Award Ceremony on 5 December 2014. The bursaries served as rewards to the students for receiving above average results in their final examinations this year despite less than ideal family situations. A total of $80,000 worth of bursaries sponsored by StarHub was distributed at the annual event held at the auditorium of Queenstown Community Centre.

Dr Chia Shi-Lu, Member of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar GRC, graced the event. He told the students in his speech: “I want to encourage you to persevere in doing well in your studies. You will be faced with many challenges. Nevertheless, continue to push forward and strive for excellence. Be a role model to your peers and families. Do bear in mind that nothing is impossible if we are determined to obtain what we set our hearts on.”
