ISCOS was glad to take part in the CARE Network Workplan Seminar held on 26 May 2017 at Sheraton Hotel. Banking on this year’s theme, “Connect. Collaborate. Co-create – Beyond Aftercare”, the event was an annual platform to engage CARE Network partners and share with them the workplan, trends, and challenges in the aftercare sector. It also provided opportunities for aftercare practitioners and professionals to learn about new initiatives and best practices in the sector.
Although this is not our first time participating in such event, what made it more special this year was the opportunity for some of our members to participate in the panel discussion and symposium. During these segments, five of our members took turns to share their first-hand account of experiences and struggles throughout their reintegration journeys, which offered a varied perspective for aftercare agencies to learn and improve ways to help ex-offenders.
The Community Action for the Rehabilitation of Ex-offenders (CARE) Network was formed in May 2000 to co-ordinate and improve the effectiveness among many agencies’ effort in engaging rehabilitative works for ex-offenders in Singapore.
