In collaboration with the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), ISCOS launched a holistic train-&-place scheme for ex-offenders. The Strengthening Opportunities Advocating Resilience (SOAR) Programme aims to prepare unemployed ex-offenders to enter the workforce by enhancing their skills sets through training, and helping the vulnerably employed ex-offenders to upgrade their skills and move towards seeking secured employment.
“We are honoured to partner WDA in developing the capabilities of ex-offenders. When ex-offenders are gainfully employed and lead productive lives, the chances of recidivism are highly reduced,” said Mr Patrick Ng, ISCOS Executive Director.
The programme launch was announced at the ISCOS Job Fair held on 19 April 2014 at the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA) which involved employers and training institutes.
It was an extremely eventful day and the ISCOS job fair garnered a fair number of media coverage across all platforms. We thank WDA for helping to make this possible and we hope to continue to foster a strong partnership with them for years to come.
